Purpose, Goals and Objectives
Our Day Care will provide stimulating experiences for the child in a safe, happy and relaxed environment. In addition to fostering independence, self-esteem, curiosity, and cultural awareness, we strive to provide a strong foundation for academic learning.
6 Infants: 6 months to 1.5yrs Staff to child Ratios: 1:3
10 Toddler: 1.5yrs to 2.5yrs 1:5
8 Preschool: 2.5yrs to 5yrs 1:8
The Day Care participates in fundraisers for various field trips, parties, graduation ceremonies, etc., which are not included in the annual budget.
Other activities which take place include: day care pictures and participating in various community functions such as Health and Career fairs,
Annual field trips included: Trick or Treating at Halloween, Swimming at the Beach, Strawberry Picking.
- Children’s Eagle Staff was made for the Day Care with community, staff and children involvement and teachings taking place.
- Training sessions took place for staff with new Early Learning framework by MOE, Turtle Concepts, Native Language conference and at the Native ECE conference in Akwasasne
- Project planning with Education Department to bring in Dr. Jean Clinton, a child psychologist who works with the Ministry of Education and Best start
- Continue networking with local Best Start committee in Elliot Lake
